INTRODUCING THE WORLD’S FIRST FULLY RECYCLABLE PAPER CRISP BAG!
At British Snack Co, we believe in more than just great taste and high-quality ingredients - we’re passionate about sustainability. That’s why we are the first-to-market crisp brand packaged in fully recyclable paper-based,
biodegradable, marine-safe packaging that does not create microplastics.
In addition to that we make our crisps on a farm that not only grows its own potatoes but is powered by renewable energy... So, we like to say that our crisps don’t just taste good - they do good, too!
Our approach to producing crisps can be described as “no-nonsense”. We use exclusively British potatoes and combine strong, simple flavours with classic crunch. We’re passionate about supporting independent businesses, so hopefully you’re reading this while sitting in one of Britain’s brilliant pubs, hotels, restaurants, or cafes.

INTERESTED IN THE SCIENCE?
First, we take paper, and then vacuum deposit a 30-nanometre layer of aluminium onto it. This indescribably thin metal layer keeps the crisps fresh and crunchy!
A layer of Hydropol™ is then extrusion coated onto the metalized paper to create an additional protective oxygen barrier and super strong seal.
Hydropol™ is water soluble and therefore our crisp bags are certified as “Recycle at Kerbside” and proudly display the OPRL Recycle Logo.
WHAT IS HYDROPOL™?
Marine safe – Completely biodegrades in marine environments and is safe to both marine plant and wildlife
Non-toxic – Safe to humans, animals and plant life with no harmful chemicals
Soluble – Completely dissolves in warm and hot water without leaving residue
Pellet form – Standardized pellet form directly integrates into existing manufacturing processes
UV resistant – Does not degrade when exposed to UV light
